Body and Heart

Slender and strong, the teenager's arms,
And when they carry his mother's groceries,
Two hearts glow with happiness.

Spotted and thick, the woman's calves,
But when they play tag with her grandchild,
Two hearts glow with happiness.

Filthy and coarse, the labourer's hands,
But when he claps his friend's back,
Two hearts glow with happiness.

Jewelled and beautiful, the bride's body,
And when she hugs her mother-in-law,
Two hearts glow with happiness.

Muscles, skin, body, bones:
When they work together in love,
All hearts glow with happiness.
